Along the northern boundary of Lisbon, there is an old and rural region, full of hills and with the highest summit in Lisbon region, a 70 million years extinct volcano. Less than 10 miles away from Lisbon, the visitor will come across villages with typical houses from “saloia” region, where time seams to have stopped and where humans from prehistoric times have left his marks. It is a different day for mountain bike lovers who will go through fantastic tracks.

Concentration

Eduardo VII park, Lisbon. Departure at 8:15 a.m, please arrive at 8 a.m. to get on the minivan to go to Loures.

Departure on bike in Loures

Near the replica of Macao cathedral facade, we will start the journey after taking a group photo.

Climbing the mountain

we begin our journey along the leziria of Loures visiting an ancient religious center on the edge of the mountain where we will appreciate a typical sweet.

On the crest of the hill

when we cross some villages we will visit ancient and recent historical remains

Lunch time

after a very intense morning where the scenery and the fabulous rails were present, we stopped for a typical lunch in a typical village.

The return

during the afternoon the journey becomes smoother and we enter the last return valley to the point of origin, in Loures
