In the further west region of Portugal, near Lisbon, there is a large concentration of ancient monuments proving the human presence since Prehistory attracted by the sea and land resources. Nowadays people are also atracted to this region specially by its wonders! It is an intense bike ride where mountain biking lovers can enjoy great tracks and amazing scenery on a day trip.
Starting in Mafra, where king João V ordered the construction of a great convent, we will go towards the seashore by Lizandro river valley where there is a fabulous single track. On the rivermouth and along the coast we will see the amazing contrast between the Atlantic ocean and the cliffs. Then it’s time to go inland, discover part of the region heritage and finish the tour with a typical lunch in the typical village.
